Crime and disorder is a significant challenge for many businesses and keeping their people safe is a priority.


Safety is put at risk every day by individuals who commit crime against businesses and In many cases, these individuals are trapped in their own series of negative behaviours and who rely on support from organisations who strive to make a difference but who struggle to get the funding to make this difference.

The NBCS Foundation is a registered charity and its core objectives are to support:


1. Those in addiction

3. Vulnerable people aged 16-25yrs

4. Ex offender into employment

5. Those in hardship

To the NBCS Foundation and its family of stakeholders including Police forces across the UK, we believe ‘Every Life Counts’ and we believe our work can significantly improve the lives of individuals across the UK while supporting a reduction in crime across the retail sector and a reduced demand on UK Policing.

I am a serving Police Officer with the West Midlands Police Service and the very proud Chairman of the NBCS Foundation.


In 2018, I created the West Midlands Police Offender to Rehabilitation Programme, which is supported by the WMP OPCC and many businesses. This programme is all about rehabilitation. It serves to offer those prolific retail/business crime offenders in addiction the opportunity to attend rehab, as well as engaging in other recovery pathways. This has saved many lives, reduced crime, and prevented money going into the illegal drugs economy. It has also reduced incidents of threats/violence to shop workers. I am incredibly proud that the programme won the 2022 Howard League for Penal Reform Award (Adults & Policing Category). This is a highly prestigious award to receive and is testament of the programme’s values.
